Bohol is an extremely popular tourist location
and continues to expand at an exponential rate. Resorts and hotels are
of a high standard although there are budget options for the
backpackers. Restaurants in the region are excellent but spend some
time at the food stalls and markets, as the local food is very tasty.
The diving is amongst the best in Southeast-Asia but there are a number
of other tourist attractions for those who want to stay dry. |

The Chocolate Hills attract thousands of visitors every year to speculate upon their construction. There are over 1200 rounded hills between 25 and 50 Meters in height. Locals say that the unusual formations resulted from two fighting giants who tried to resolve their argument by throwing rocks at one another. The whole area is protected and remains pristine and clean to this day.
Nature lovers will enjoy hiking in the hills and forests and observing the indigenous creatures. There are more than 300 different animals to be seen and countless species of bird. Ornithologists organize regular trips to the area to catch sight of some extremely rare birds. Bohol is the perfect holiday destination for the adventurous as there is so much to do. Those that just want to sit on the beach and sip cocktails in the evening will be equally satisfied. Bohol is the Philippines at its best.
There are a number of activities for the adventurous (Mountain climbing, hill trekking, bike riding) But by far the most popular pastime is diving. Numerous fantastic sites are within easy reach and offer some of the best diving in the Philippines. Local guides are friendly and helpful and will be able to help you plan the dive experience of a lifetime.
